S’all Good, S’all Good…

It’s all going good so far with my blogging revamp. Pictures are working just fine on Wordpress for me now, and so I’m just testing a few other things and I’ll be ready to move. If you’re interested in seeing how I’m doing on it, visit my testing blog here. I should probably be ready to move the blog after I get back from my vacation. Vacation? Oh yes, I’m going AFK from Aug. 9-15, about a week. (Don’t worry, I do have 1 or 2 AFK posts perfect for such an occasion…) But being ready to move a blog, and moving a blog, are entirely different things, the latter being dependent on how soon I can think of a good new name. Like I’ve said before, I’m horrible at making names, so It may be a while, unless I get some flash of inspiration.

Help Needed.

I started to try out Wordpress today. I like it. I'm fairly confident that I will move the blog over there soon. My only problem is I'm being an utter noob at things such as this, and I'm still failing at uploading pictures. I've gotten a lot further though. Thanks to the advice of inmysissyrobe, I've managed to actually upload pictures to the site. Like, they are visible. My only problem is I have a crapton of space insude the caption, below and to the right of the picture. Caption you ask? Oh yea, all this is in my new 'testing blog', on Wordpress. So, if anyone can help me with this, head over to my testing blog and leave a comment!

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Well, I mentioned last post that there were going to be some big changes to this blog. I'm not gonna screw around with you guys, I'm gonna cut straight to the heart of the matter. I really don't like the theme of this blog. I made the title and theme of this blog when I first started because the one character I seriously played was my paladin. Hence, the paladin themed blog. I've realised by now that what I write isn't coherent with the theme. I don't blog about paladin stuff. Paladin blogs are blogs like Blessing of Kings, Honor's Code, or even Banana Shoulders or Paladin Schmaladin. Not Knights in Gold. My dilemma is that I don't think there is a way to change the actual title/address of your blog. So, it seems my only option is to create a new blog and continue form there. Now, a lot of bloggers switch sites. Blogger to Wordpress, or as they become more prominent, Blogger/Wordpress to their own domain name. But I don't know of anyone ever switching from Blogger to Blogger. Either this is probably because of:

a)There is some way to change the title and address, and I'm just a noob.

b) They're all just happy with their blog titles. (Much more likely.)

Another problem is even if I did switch, I wouldn't have a title. I'm horrible with creating titles and names and whatnot. When I write creatively, I spend ages pondering names for characters, just because I'm so bad at them. A good idea might be something to do with alts, but every single conceivable name that has anything to do with alts is already taken. (Altoholic, Alt Fanatic, Alt master, etc.) I don't like blog titles belittling myself. That just screams to me 'I'm unsure of myself, or I just couldn't think of a better name.' Noob[INSERT SECOND WORD HERE] is ok maybe, but stuff like 'NoobFail' I just hate. Of course, I could always switch to Wordpress, but I quite like Blogger's 'cosy' feel.

As for the secondary blog I mentioned earlier, it's in early development. (As in, it's got bits and pieces of ideas scrawled in my notepad.) It should be up and running as soon as I get a good title.

And finally, none of these big developments and ideas are going anywhere until I figure out how to post screenshots on this blog. It's something that's annoyed me for a very long time, as everyone can seemingly do it but me. So if anyone reading this knows, please leave a comment with instructions, it will save me a hell of a lot of wracking my brain and e-mailing every single last blogger I know of who uses blogger.

P.S. For some reason, my blogroll has partially broken. (Yet another reason to switch sites!) it won't update some blogs. The only one's I've figured out so far are Lady Jess and WoW.com. There's probably more, I just haven't found them yet.

Edit: Fixed the Blogroll! (I think)

Random Musings

Because I've got a lot of thoughts running rampant around my head, and I don't think they're worthy enough to be expanded into full blog posts.

-I need a new mouse. One with a middle button, preferably. When I bought my new desktop in January, I bought a wireless mouse with it. It doesn't have a middle button. It's definetely not a gaming mouse. (My problem with gaming mice is that most of them, (i.e 99% of them) are right-handed, and the few left-handed ones are a lot more expensive. Which is why I use a regular, neutral mouse) Now normally this wouldn't bother me. But recently, I've dual-specced Holy, and seeing how BBB reccomended it on his site, I decided to try VuhDo. (And I reccomend any new healers to give it a whirl at least too. Well, as far as I've figured so far, what I need keyed into it are: Holy Light, Flash of Light, Cleanse, Sacred Shield, and Holy Shock. With my sad little 4 key mouse, I have no room for Sacred Shield. Which sucks, since it really is important to always keep it on the tank.

-It's incredibly easy to get geared up reasonably well as Holy without ever stepping into an instance. Which is good, considering it's impossible to get into instances as Ret, and to get into them as Holy, I can't be in all Ret gear.

-There is ever growing pressure to switch professions and become an inscriptionist. My friends are telling me to do it, my guildies are telling me to do it, the evidence is all around me. Inscriptionists make a ton of cash. I need a ton of cash. It seems like a no brainer. The thing is, I'm a huge achievement whore and a small-pet collector. Which is the reason why I'm mining/Eng. right now. That and the roflcopter.

-I'm thinking of starting a new blog. Just a place to jot down my thoughts on random stuff, and to go all philosopical on your asses! I don't have it set up, nor do I have a site for it yet. In fact, I don't even have a name. It's just an idea that's been floating around in my head for a while now.

-There's gonna be some major changes in this blog. But that's another post. (/tease)

Goblins and Worgen, Oh My!

Well since everyone's talking about this, I may as well jump on the bandwagon as well. As you all well know, Goblin and Worgen Hallow's End masks have been datamined on the PTR. Previously, only playable races got masks. So this has got everyone pumped up and excited over if they'll be the 2 new playable races in the next expansion. Personally, I've suspected (roughly) something like this for ages now, and if you read mainstream WoW blogs, there's a chance you heard it too. (And if you haven't I advise you go read that article now.) (Props to Kinless by the way for having a spot on guess. (Nearly.))

Now, if you want a detailed overview of the whole goblin/worgen mask debacle, I suggest you go check out teh article over at Random Ravings of Warcraft. But I'm sure most of you know all about what's happening with these masks and also the whole Cataclysm trademarking thing. Now one of the things people are speculating is that considering neither Goblins or Worgen have any particular ties to either the Horde or the Alliance, they maybe neutral factions, being able to choose their side at around lvl 20 or so. With phasing, this would be entirely possible, in fact, it would probably be a lot like the Deathknight starting zone. Yes, I know you choose before you start playing, but in all aspects, until that final quest, you could be neither. You have almost no ties to the faction, both Horde and Alliance Deathknights coexist and play in the same zone, it would work out fine. And hey, maybe Blizzard won't even use phasing. When WoW first started, I doubt anyone would have thought phasing would be possible ingame. Hell, I doubt anyone would have thought of it all the way into TBC until it was announced! Blizzard has people paid to create new ideas, and new fangled things for this game every day. Maybe along with the next expansion will come something new and crazy that we couldn't even imagine!

On to the subject of Worgen. Blizzard has already mentioned that they plan on pre-seeding new playable races into the game, i.e, adding things inconspicuously to the game to get them ready, like character models, movement, lore, all that. For example, new in WotLK, the new worgen models could wear armor and carry weapons, and essential part of a playable race. And in any of you remember the book Torment of the Worgen, in Karahzan, transforms you into a worgen for 10 seconds. You can laugh, jump, wave, use weapons, even mount up! As you'll know if you've ever been under the effect of a tranformation spell like that, (i.e, the Hallow's Eve wands they're incredibly more limited. A lot of work for an npc that will almost never be used huh?

Of course, Blizzard perfectly well knows that we're all eager little news whores and that we datamine everything on the PTR. (Especially after that supposed 'Northrend plants' fiasco)
it may just be a big red herring, and someone at Blizzard decided to screw around with us a bit. And hey, they could still be used as masks for Hallow's Eve, so it wouldn't be like they were wasting productive work time either. And finally, as to people saying we will probably get new races in the new expansion because we just got a hero class, and Blizzard is alternating between races and classes, how are you so sure? How do you know that Blizzard decided at the beginning of designing TBC that they were gonna alternate like that? Maybe, they just added new races in TBC, and when WotLK arrived they realised that maybe the 1-Endlvl stretch was getting a little too long, and maybe they should add something to make high lvl players alt lvling a little easier? And hey, they'd wanted to put the Deathknight class in since Vanilla WoW, so why not? Hmm? What about that? What if they add races and a new class? Or what if they make a goblin/worgen only hero class?

/rant over

P.S I give all credit to Random Ravings of Warcraft and MMOChampion for most of these ideas. I'm just giving my opinion and maybe adding a bit here and there.

Edit: Yeah! LiveSignature works!

Hiatus

My guild is officially on hiatus. Like, literally. The guildleader posted it up on guild info that we are officially on hiatus until further notice. probably as a result of 2 of the 3 co-gms and 2 major officers quitting unexplicably. And then about 5 officers/senior members have quit too.

Shit.

This is my third ride on the slow guild death train now. I can never be in a guild that just has a schism and goes out with a bang. At least then I could side with one of the factions and still have a guild. This way I'm just helpless to watch as guild members slowly trickle away until yet again, I'm left guildless.

Shit.

Lvl 80!! Whoo! Yeah!!

My first lvl 80!!! Yeah!! W00t!!

So obviously, Drazmor just hit lvl 80, and I'm psyched!! And after about a week of being 80, I've hit the reason so many firends have quit WoW; how brutal it is to gear up regular instances at endgame lvl. It's obviously a nessessary step until I can hit 1000dps for heroics, but it's brutal! For the past 3days I've been trying for an instance every time i get into Dalaran, and I've gotten in one. Just one. And that was because it was Violet Hold, and and obviously people lvling up alts around lvl 76 want to run it. Damn. But hey, I've got my magic notepad of WoW, with my amazing pally cheatsheet (Which I will probably later find out is incredibly outdated, I wrote it that long ago.) But I'm determined I'm going to beat it, and so I will get through these dark times! Huzzah!!!

Other than that, all I've really been doing is doing Argent Crusade dailies and working on my mining, which has been sadly neglected after I quit Herbalism/Inscriptioning. It's just really, really, hard to gear up when you're sub-1000dps. :S

Drazmor

P.S Oh yeah and I and I updated my sidebars! Including a new blog of the week! (Which is turning out to be more of a Blog of the Whenever I Feel Like Updating It) And no, I did already subscribe to Repgrind, I didn't just add it when I got a comment on here. I blame my insanely outdated blogroll.
